Radhi Shenaishil has been sacked after Iraq's failure to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Iraqi-Football.com understands.
The Iraq Football Association held a meeting on Monday morning to discuss the situation, and decided not only to terminate the contract of the Iraqi coach, but to sack the entire coaching staff.
Iraq's results in this qualifying campaign have been poor on the whole, with five defeats including 2-0 losses to Australia and UAE as well as three losses combined against Japan and Saudi Arabia, leading to supporters holding protests outside the FA's headquarters.
The favourite to take over is Brazilian manager Marcos Paqueta, who has coached various Asian/African clubs and national teams over the past three decades as well as the Brazil under-17 and under-20 teams.
